EAST SNOWMASS CREEK DITCH TRAIL
Back to the trails list

Trail: East Snowmass Creek Ditch Trail
Region: Old Snowmass area
Difficulty: easy
Description: This trail starts at the top of Divide Road, across from Krabloonik restaurant and Kennels. From the parking lot the trail follows an irrigation ditch. After about a mile you will find panoramic views of the Snowmass Creek Valley and Mount Daly. The trail is 1.7 miles (2.7 km) in length. It is an easy trail for hikers or bikers. From there you can access the West Government Trail (a steep, uphill climb) and the East Snowmass Creek Trail which is in the Maroon Bells/ Snowmass Wilderness Area.
Directions: Drive 6 miles west of Aspen on Highway 82 and turn left onto Brush Creek Road. Continue on Brush Creek Road 5.4 miles and turn right onto Divide Road. Divide Road turns into a gravel road and passes the Krabloonik Restaurant and Kennels. The road descends steeply to the valley bottom where the road forks. Take the left fork, the trailhead will be just beyond the wooden bridge, on the left side of the road. The Maroon-Snowmass Trail to Snowmass Lake is at the end of the gravel road.
